State-owned Kalinga Stadium is the biggest of its kind in Odisha, featuring infrastructure facility for several disciplines.
Located in the heart of capital city Bhubaneswar, the picturesque stadium has an astro-turf hockey complex, international-standard swimming complex, synthetic track for athletics, international-standard football ground, 10 tennis courts, three basketball courts, three volleyball courts, three practice fields, two hostel building, 37 A/C Deluxe rooms, 26 dormitories with a capacity to accommodate 470 sportspersons, two gymnasiums, conference room, a jogging track etc. The main stadium has a 50,000 seating capacity. Government College of Physical Education and Nehru Yuva Kendra also function from this stadium.
The stadium staged Hockey India League matches in 2014. It also hosted national-level competitions in athletics, tennis, football, swimming, rugby and kickboxing. Barija Ranjan Mohanty is the in-charge of the stadium.
